Just as Apple announced its Dynamic Island in iPhone 14 pro, every reviewer, user, and tech-savvy became fascinated with this new design. Not only because it is way more functional and allows users to take quick actions -by showing smart notifications and activities from apps running in the background-, but also because of its amazing animation!

Apple already has its own designs for its native applications like timer, calls, voice memos, Airdrop, Music, Maps, etc... including system feedback like face id, charging, AirPods connection, and silent mode notifications. However, the company also provides API to third-party developers to use the Dynamic Island interaction.

This is a game changer! It’s a great opportunity for product & interaction designers to add value to their users and enhance the usability.

That’s why, as a passionate Product Designer, I decided to take a step further by designing and visualizing how might the most popular apps take advantage of Apple’s newest breakthrough: The Dynamic Island.

P.S. These designs are NOT official. I just spent my time-off to discover and play around new functions.

1- Youtube Premium

One of Youtube Premium's best features is watching a video while using other apps. But what if I want to collapse it for a while and continue listening to the voice with the ability to open it again quickly?

2- Whatsapp

Getting a voice message and play it without jumping to WhatsApp?

3- Fotmob (Football matches results app)

Know matches updates instantly easily with a fancy animation instead of a traditional notification banner

4- Uber

Don't jump each second to Uber app just to know the remaining time to arrive

5- Talabat (Food delivery app)

Hungry? Track your food updates while scrolling on other apps and get updates

6- Islamic Prayers times

Know the remaining time before the next prayer time

That's it! Let me know your feedback and thoughts.

Do you think this island is the next trend in mobile phone interface designs?

Thanks for reaching this point. I appreciate that
